Our Story & Our Passion

Opportunity often comes disguised in the form of misfortune, or temporary defeat.

~ Napoleon Hill ~

Kristin and Mercedes met in 2018 when they were recruiting partners at a hot startup in Austin, where Kristin was building a team that needed to scale quickly and really needed some help. As Kristin’s dedicated agency recruiter contact, Mercedes immediately became a trusted confidante in sourcing incredible talent that actually filled seats, so much so that Kristin worked for over a year to recruit her away from her agency to join the startup as an internal recruiter. They knew they would be able to do incredible things working together, and were beyond excited to be on the same team. It likely would have unfolded perfectly according to plan, but then came COVID, and suddenly Kristin and Mercedes had the time to think about creating a business that allows them to use their strengths to help more than just their one team.

Heristic was conceived by Mercedes Ballard & Kristin Bonds in the pandemic summer of 2020, when the world stopped but ideas flourished.

Kristin, a steward of workplace culture and employee engagement, desires to help organizations develop to seamlessly function and cultivate belongingness.

Mercedes, a staunch networker, is steadfast in bringing people together to maximize their potential.

Together, they realized a huge opportunity existed to bring two needs together.

In today’s volatile business environment, an organization must be able to pivot and engage its people in new ways of thinking and behaving in orde

r to grow. We assist businesses in overcoming these hurdles by crafting agile talent management capabilities built around clear business requirements that produce sustained results. We are passionate about what we do and the problems we solve. And, we like to have fun along the way too.
